Skins for Minecraft MCPE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026. This policy explains how personal data is handled in the Skins for Minecraft MCPE mobile app for iOS and Android.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing is:

Justin Michael Eckenweber
Rühlestraße 5
45147 Essen
Germany
Email: skinsapp@apposaurus.de

2. Scope of this policy

Skins for Minecraft MCPE is a mobile app for browsing, saving, downloading, and importing Minecraft Bedrock and MCPE skins. The app is available internationally and does not require a user account.

This policy covers the mobile app, the app-specific backend used to provide the skin catalog, app support, advertising, and in-app purchases. It does not cover Minecraft, Mojang Studios, Microsoft, Apple, Google Play, or third-party apps that you choose in the system share sheet.

3. Short summary

  • No account is required to use the app.
  • Favorites, theme choices, review prompt state, and similar settings are stored locally on your device.
  • The skin catalog and skin files are loaded from our backend, which is hosted in Germany.
  • The free version uses Google AdMob for ads, including banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app open ads.
  • Pro purchases and restore status are managed through Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat.
  • We do not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or a separate behavioral analytics SDK.

4. Data processed by the app

4.1 App backend, catalog, search, and downloads

When the app loads categories, skin details, skin images, skin files, or search results, the app contacts our backend. For technical delivery and security, the server may process request data such as IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, response status, transferred data volume, user agent, device or operating system information sent with the request, and similar technical information.

The app may also send functional request parameters such as category, search query, pagination cursor, sort mode, skin identifier, and download interaction type. Download interactions may be used to maintain catalog quality, show top skins, and detect abuse.

4.2 Hosting in Germany

The app backend is hosted on servers in Germany with Hetzner Online GmbH. A data processing agreement is in place for this hosting. Server-side processing is used to deliver the skin catalog, skin files, images, and related app functionality.

4.3 Local data on your device

The app stores some data locally on your device so the app works as expected. This may include favorite skin identifiers, theme preference, ad consent state, whether a review prompt was already requested, download counters for review timing, cached skin images, and temporary download files.

Local favorites are stored as skin identifiers, not as a user account. Removing the app deletes app-local data managed by the operating system. Files that you explicitly save to your photo library or gallery remain there until you delete them.

4.4 Import, share sheet, and save to gallery

When you download a skin, the app may temporarily store the skin package or PNG file on your device. If you choose to import a skin, the app opens the native iOS or Android share sheet so you can choose Minecraft or another compatible app. If you choose to save a PNG to your gallery or photo library, the file is saved only after your action and, where required, after operating system permission.

After you choose a target app in the share sheet, that target app processes the shared file under its own privacy policy.

4.5 Support requests and content reports

If you contact us by email, including for support, copyright, trademark, or content concerns, we process your email address, message content, technical details you provide, and any attachments you send so we can handle the request.

5. Google AdMob and advertising consent

The free version of the app uses Google AdMob to display ads. Ads may include banner ads, interstitial ads, rewarded ads, and app open ads. AdMob is provided by Google and its affiliated companies.

5.1 Data processed by AdMob

According to Google's information for the Google Mobile Ads SDK, the SDK may automatically collect and share data such as IP address, user product interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. IP address may be used to estimate approximate location. Google states that data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS.

Depending on your device, region, consent status, and Google settings, AdMob may also process advertising identifiers, ad impressions, clicks, video views, app launch events, device and network information, and similar ad delivery and measurement data.

5.2 Consent management

Where required, especially in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for advertising consent before ads are loaded. You can manage your consent again in the app settings.

If you do not provide the required ad consent, ads may be unavailable. In that case, free downloads that depend on rewarded ads may require you to manage consent again or upgrade to Pro.

5.3 Google privacy information

Google's privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. AdMob policy information is available at https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543. Google's developer information for Google Play data disclosure is available at https://developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy/play-data-disclosure.

6. In-app purchases and RevenueCat

The app offers an optional Pro upgrade. Payment processing is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your platform. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

We use RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements, restore purchases, and unlock Pro features. RevenueCat may process technical device information, an app user identifier, product identifiers, purchase status, purchase dates, Apple receipt data, Google purchase tokens, and similar transaction information needed to verify access.

The app settings may show a RevenueCat identifier so support can diagnose purchase and restore issues if you choose to send it to us. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.

7. In-app review prompt

The app may ask the operating system to show an in-app review prompt after a small number of downloads. The app stores locally whether it already requested a review and a local download counter for this purpose. Apple or Google decides whether a review prompt is actually shown and processes any rating or review under its own terms and privacy policy.

Where the GDPR or similar data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: providing app functionality, loading the skin catalog, downloads, import support, Pro purchases, and purchase restore.
  • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR: advertising consent where required and any optional permissions or actions based on your consent.
  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, maintaining reliable operation, and improving catalog quality.
  • Article 6(1)(c) GDPR: compliance with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, consumer protection, and lawful requests where applicable.

9. Service providers and recipients

We use service providers only where needed to operate the app, show ads, process purchases, provide downloads, or answer support requests. These may include:

  • Hetzner Online GmbH for backend hosting in Germany.
  • Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform for advertising and consent management.
  • Google Play for Android app distribution, billing, reviews, and store services.
  • Apple App Store for iOS app distribution, billing, reviews, and store services.
  • RevenueCat for purchase entitlement management and restore functionality.
  • Email and infrastructure providers used to receive and answer support messages.

10. International transfers

Our own app backend is hosted in Germany. However, some external providers, especially Google, Apple, and RevenueCat, may process data in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are based on appropriate safeguards such as data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms provided by the respective service provider.

11. Retention

  • Local app settings and favorites remain on your device until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
  • Cached images and temporary download files may be removed automatically by the app or the operating system.
  • Files saved to your photo library or gallery remain there until you delete them.
  • Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operation, security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, or legal obligations.
  • Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request and any follow-up, unless legal retention duties apply.
  • AdMob, Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat retain data according to their own policies and legal obligations.

12. Children and younger users

The app does not require an account and is not designed to collect names, addresses, photos, chat messages, or other profile information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has sent personal data to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

13. Your rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights regarding your personal data. For users in the European Economic Area, these rights include:

  • Right of access, Article 15 GDPR
  • Right to rectification, Article 16 GDPR
  • Right to erasure, Article 17 GDPR
  • Right to restriction of processing, Article 18 GDPR
  • Right to data portability, Article 20 GDPR
  • Right to object, Article 21 GDPR
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time, Article 7(3) GDPR
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, Article 77 GDPR

You can contact us at skinsapp@apposaurus.de. If your request concerns a purchase, include the RevenueCat identifier shown in the app settings if possible. Do not send payment card details.

14. Your choices

  • You can manage advertising consent in the app settings where the consent option is available.
  • You can remove favorites in the app or delete local app data through your device settings.
  • You can reset or limit advertising identifiers in your operating system settings where supported.
  • You can choose not to save PNG files to your gallery or photo library.
  • You can use the Pro upgrade to use the app without ads shown by the app.

15. Supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority in North Rhine-Westphalia is:

Landesbeauftragte fuer Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen
https://www.ldi.nrw.de/

16. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy if the app changes, for example if new ad formats, purchase features, providers, backend functionality, or support options are added. The effective date above shows the current version.
